IFBN Food Drive with Britannia and Rotary Clubs - March 2015

Corporate leadership is the strength of the India FoodBanking Network. Our Corporate partners believe in their significant role in eliminating hunger which touches 194.6 million people in India.

Recently, IFBN organized a massive food distribution drive at national scale in collaboration with Britannia India and Rotary Clubs. The Rotary Clubs played an end-to-end role of picking the inventory from Britannia warehouses and distributing it within their localities & partner organizations, schools, institutes, etc.

The food drive was conducted in 12 cities over a week’s time, covering thousands of beneficiaries at several beneficiary organizations.  The programme covered Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Mumbai, Moradabad, Sonepur, Cochin, Calicut, Ernakulam and Palakkad district (Kerala), Salem and Vijayawada. Around 2000 cartons containing over 1,50,000 packs of Britannia products were distributed to schools students, differently-abled, night schools, orphanages, etc.

This entire program strengthens one of our core principles of how corporate leadership can make a change. This also marks the success of IFBN as a FoodBanking Network which swiftly connects various stakeholders who can distribute large amount of food without creating additional infrastructure or support. IFBN with its credible partners can also work on a national scale as a distributor of socio-development and ancillary services to needy areas and affected areas at the time of disaster, drought, etc.
