After the successful implementation of the Delhi Food Bank, Cargill India in partnership with India Food Banking Network has supported a foodbank in Haryana – The Gurgaon FoodBank. DLF Foundation has provided warehousing support to the Delhi and Gurgaon Food Bank.The Food Bank is being run by Responsenet Development Services.
The Gurgaon Food Bank was launched in Gurgaon on 11th November, 2013 by Hon’ble Minister of State for Industries, Mr. Randeep Singh Surjewala, Mr. Sam Pitroda, Former Advisor to Prime Minister of India on Public Information Infrastructure and Innovations and Mr. Siraj Choudhry, Chairman Cargill, India . "If we don''t feed people nutritious food, we will not have enough healthy people to join the workforce, therefore the nutritional challenge in India is a key concern for the private sector," pointed out Sam Pitroda during his address.
Randeep Singh Surjewala, the chief guest of the event, highlighted, "We require a voluntary approach on a sustained and cumulative basis to make Food Banking work. Food Banking is the way forward to help our society become a better one."
